PHOTO GROUP
Four years ago, I was fortunate to run into a local photo group practicing Miksang Photography. Though the purity of the mission has waned, we enjoy meeting every other Sunday and talk aesthetics and technical details as we search for photos and end with a breakfast together. Politics have come into the discussions and sometimes what feels like a group therapy of our own personal issues. At one breakfast I was astonished five of us each helped another with a problem they had as we happened to know an easy solution.
We walk searching for photos in various neighborhoods around Austin and end with a new breakfast spot. Mostly, photos are hard to find, though on rare days, photos jump out at me.
Recently we were to meet in a familiar neighborhood. I realized if I had to pick one photo from our many walks, it was from this South Congress area of Austin Texas. I joked to the group that maybe I would find another photo there.

Walking into our meeting spot, I was in shock of what I saw.
